LIVING WITH STARGARDTS DISEASE

Hi,
My name is David and I live in NC. I am 56 years old. Only after being sent to Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC was I able to find out what was wrong with my eye. I was diagnoised with Stargardts yesterday Feb. 4, 2009. I have lost all central vision in my left eye and can only see around the edges. I have lost virtually all of my depth perception. The disease is also in my right eye but as of now it has not impeded my sight. I have been promised a trip to the National Eye Institute in Washington, DC within 2 months. I would like to hear from people of my age group who also have this disease or from anyone who has been to the NIH in DC. I can be contacted at easair@charter.net.
